“Values are not just external slogans, they need to be lived”
At Pharmetheus, integrity is more than just a company value — it is a cornerstone of the daily operations. Dr. Ida Neldemo, a model-informed drug development (MIDD) consultant, and member of the ambassador team of the company values, emphasizes the important role integrity plays in the company’s culture and client relationships.
Ida Neldemo’s work involves hands-on modeling and report writing, using client data to develop models that help determine optimal medication doses. Her role is not just technical; it also involves upholding the highest standards of integrity.
Once, when a client was hesitant to submit an abstract for a promising medication due to financial concerns, Ida and her team explained the benefits of sharing the research, highlighting how it could reach a broader audience and ultimately benefit more people.
The client, convinced by their argument, decided to proceed with the submission.
Pharmetheus’ values
Dedication, collaboration, and integrity
The values team
The values of the company are long-standing, and have been refined and integrated into the organization since the beginning of 2023. The Values Team, led by Ida, with members from various departments, acts as ambassadors to raise awareness and ensure the values are applied in everyday tasks.
“Everything we do as individuals is based on our values, but we often don’t think about what they entail,” Ida explains. “It’s crucial to discuss what our values mean and how they are reflected in our work. Values are not just external slogans, they need to be lived. The Values Team is working to make this information more accessible, so our colleagues can see and learn from them.”
Throughout operations
Integrity at Pharmetheus extends to the protection of client data. Client confidentiality is paramount, and in some projects, this confidentiality even extends to the scientists involved. This aspect was particularly relevant when planning the company’s move to a new, more spacious open-plan office, ensuring that client data remains secure.
Collaboration
While integrity is Ida’s most cherished value, she acknowledges that collaboration has had significant progress within the company.
We have exceptionally good collaboration here, which is appreciated by many who apply for jobs with us. Anyone can ask anyone else a question and get an answer. This connects to dedication and the desire to do a good job. Ultimately, our vision is to help patients, and that’s a driving force for many of us.”
Value driven
For Ida Neldemo and the team at Pharmetheus, integrity is not just a value; it is a guiding principle that shapes every interaction, from client advice to internal collaborations.
By embedding these values – dedication, collaboration and dedication – deeply into their work culture, Pharmetheus continues to build trust and confidence with their clients and within their own organization, ultimately contributing to the advancement of healthcare and the well-being of patients worldwide. As Ida succinctly puts it, “Being able to say ‘good job, you showed great integrity’ is important. It’s a testament to our commitment to doing the right thing, every time.”
Balancing life
Like many of her colleagues, Ida Neldemo values the work-life balance at Pharmetheus. Currently working mainly from home, she appreciates the flexibility this offers, especially during intense periods. Her manager is mindful of ensuring no one works excessively, and Ida is careful to disconnect from work by turning off notifications on her phone. “To work and perform at a high level, you need proper time off,” she notes.
In her spare time, Ida enjoys spending time with her two children, ice skating, and playing board games with her husband and colleagues. This balance and the supportive work environment at Pharmetheus contribute to a culture where employees can thrive both professionally and personally.
