Workshop: PBPK-PD/QSP modeling with the OSP-Suite (PK-Sim®, MoBi®)
Join our workshop in connection with PKUK to learn how to build and develop PD and QSP models in MoBi®. This two-day event, held on November 26-27, 2024, offers theoretical insights and hands-on training with experienced instructors. Don't miss this opportunity to enhance your skills over two half-day sessions!
Workshop overview
This workshop features PBPK and PD/QSP modeling with the Open Systems Pharmacology (OSP) suite also known as PK-Sim® and MoBi®.
The focus is on leveraging the open-source platform MoBi® and utilizing the standardized and well-established whole body PBPK model provided in PK-Sim® in combination with the open modeling possibilities in MoBi® to finally create WB-PBPK-PD/QSP models.
Workshop learning objectives
By the end of the workshop, you will know how to:
- Connect WB-PBPK PK-Sim® models with custom-built PD/QSP MoBi® models
- Address and initiate the development of pharmacodynamic (PD) and quantitative systems pharmacology (QSP) models in MoBi®
Workshop description
During the workshop, the participants increase their understanding and practical experience with the software MoBi®. For each topic, a brief lecture is given including a background and an outline of the related hands-on exercise to follow. Hands-on sessions are structured as stepwise model development, and the tutor(s) are present to assist and guide you if questions arise.
Workshop goal
To provide you with a foundation to apply PK-Sim® and MoBi® in future projects where the integration of physiological and pharmacological knowledge is key.
The combination of instructions and mentor led lectures enable you to learn the platforms through hands-on training by applying a combination of practice examples and theoretical explorations.
MoBi® training
The MoBi training adopts a theoretical approach, to give you insights and experiences to fundamental modeling concepts in the MoBi® environment. You practice how to develop model structures, define flows and reactions and get insights in different approaches to describing pharmacological effects. After the training, you will have the tools to approach modeling in MoBi® on their own. The session concludes by integrating the established PK-Sim® and MoBi® models to exemplify how to create a WB-PBPK-PD/QSP model.
Workshop target audience
Scientists/Pharmacometricians looking to learn MoBi® and how to combine PK-Sim® and MoBi® models in creation of WB-PBPK-PD/QSP models. The workshop is suitable for beginners in MoBi®.
