Accelerating subcutaneous drug development: A mechanistic absorption model for the Open Systems Pharmacology framework
We are pleased to share that our latest research has now been published in CPT: Pharmacometrics & Systems Pharmacology.
Subcutaneous drug delivery is becoming increasingly important for making treatment more convenient and accessible. Yet, understanding and predicting drug absorption via this route remains a complex scientific challenge.
In this paper, we present a mechanistic absorption model for subcutaneous drug delivery. By providing deeper insights into absorption kinetics and the influence of tissue-level processes, our model aims to support more robust formulation and development decisions.
Research is rarely done in isolation, and this work is truly the result of a collective effort. Our sincere thanks to co-authors, colleagues, and contributors for their invaluable insights and shared dedication.
We would also like to extend our gratitude to our broader scientific network for their scientific input, guidance, and discussions throughout this project, and to The Swedish Drug Delivery Center (SweDeliver) and Vinnova for providing the financial support that made this research possible.
