Climate change is a real and undeniable threat to our entire civilization. The effects are already visible and will be catastrophic unless we act now. Through education, innovation, and adherence to our climate commitments, we can make the necessary changes to protect the planet. These changes also provide huge opportunities to modernize our infrastructure which will create new jobs and promote greater prosperity across the globe.
Pharmetheus endeavors to protect the environment by responsibly recycling, limiting non-sustainable resource usage, and transitioning to sustainable resources. This includes selecting suppliers that share this vision and goal.
Pharmetheus minimizes its environmental impact through a digital portfolio of services, reduced energy consumption in our workplaces, limited travel, and sustainable management of IT equipment.
Initiatives
Carbon compensation for travel
We make donations to carbon offset projects that are Gold-Standard classified through My Climate, an organization that helps calculate emissions, reduce carbon footprints, and support climate protection.
Green purchasing, recycling, and device policies for IT equipment
Our Device Policy sets a high-quality model standard, ensuring that purchased equipment is long-lasting and that our device maintenance, management, and disposal are as environmentally friendly as possible. Also, we try to only purchase services, equipment, and material from ISO 14001-certified manufacturers and vendors.
We recycle computers, monitors, printers, mobile phones, and other IT-provided electronic equipment as per hazardous waste regulations to ensure that their disposal is handled in compliance with established waste policies and procedures, such as our agreement with Moreco, an IT reclaim- and recycling company owned by Stena Recycling. Whenever feasible, we recycle and refurbish reclaimed devises for second-life use in other markets.
Office choices with environmental criteria
Before selecting the Paris office, Pharmetheus considered the environmental criteria. As a result, the building has one of the certifications for high environment quality buildings can get (e.g., BREAM®, HQETM, Well, BBC, LEEDTM), and the material used was 20-30% recycled. In addition, the co-working company aims to be more inclusive, ethical, and human, aligned with our CSR goals.
