Workshop: PBPK/PD-QSP
This workshop offers hands-on training in Physiologically-based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modeling with PK-Sim® and MoBi®, focusing on integrating PD and QSP for complex DDIs and special populations like pediatrics and the elderly.
Overview
This workshop covers the development of whole-body PBPK models in PK-Sim®, providing real-world case studies in pediatrics, geriatrics, and DDI scenarios. Participants will learn how to integrate PBPK models with PD and QSP models in MoBi®, including the development of custom-built PD/QSP frameworks for enhanced model flexibility and application.
Workshop goals
Provide participants with a strong foundation to apply PK-Sim® and MoBi® in projects integrating physiological and pharmacological knowledge.
Workshop learning objectives
By the end of this workshop, participants will:
- Develop whole-body PBPK models in PK-Sim®.
- Apply PBPK models to case studies in pediatric, elderly, and complex DDI scenarios.
- Understand the basics of pharmacodynamic (PD) and quantitative systems pharmacology (QSP) modeling in MoBi®.
- Integrate WB-PBPK models with custom-built PD/QSP models in MoBi®.
Key topics covered
- Whole-body PBPK modeling in PK-Sim®
- PBPK applications for pediatric and elderly populations
- Complex drug-drug interaction (DDI) modeling
- Integration of PBPK with PD and QSP models
- Custom-built PD/QSP frameworks in MoBi®
Target audience
This workshop is suitable for scientists and pharmacometricians with some experience in PK-Sim®, looking to advance their skills in PBPK modeling. It is designed for both beginners and advanced users interested in integrating PK-Sim® and MoBi® to develop WB-PBPK-PD/QSP models.
Workshop requirements
Participants must bring a laptop with the required software installed. OSPSuite packages should be installed prior to the workshop.
