Workshop: Introduction to non-linear mixed effects modeling workshop
This workshop provides an introduction to non-linear mixed effects modelling with lectures and hands-on exercises.
Overview
This workshop introduces the fundamentals of non-linear-mixed-effects (nlme) modeling, focusing on both theoretical foundations and practical implementation in NONMEM. Lectures and hands-on exercises focus is on PK modelling with implementation in NONMEM and usage of PsN.
Workshop goals
Provide an introduction to non-linear-mixed-effects modeling and simulation using NONMEM.
Workshop learning objectives
By the end of this workshop, participants will: Understand the fundamentals of non-linear-mixed-effect approach . Gain hands-on experience implementing non-linear-mixed-effect modeling in NONMEM.
Key topics covered
- Fundamentals of non-linear-mixed-effect modeling including history of the tools, dataset requirements, random effects (stochastic models), introduction to covariate modeling, model evaluation including simulation based diagnostics, as well as simulations in NONMEM. Hands-on exercices include aspects such as executing a NONMEM run, inspection of NONMEM output files and evaluation of results including graphic diagnostics.
Target audience
This workshop is ideal for an audience of junior modelers, pre-clinical scientists and clinical pharmacology scientists.
Workshop requirements
Participants should bring their own laptops with the required software installed (R, NONMEM, and PsN).
