The dawn of a new era: can machine learning and large language models reshape QSP modeling?

Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) is quickly emerging as an additional element in the pharmacometrics tool set. This article, co-authored by QSP Scientific Lead, Lourdes Cucurull-Sanchez, summarizes the ISoP Quantitative Systems Pharmacology (QSP) Special Interest Group’s (SIG) contribution to the xSIG session during ACoP 2024. It explores the transformative role of AI/ML in reshaping QSP workflows, highlighting the key challenges that the integration of both methodologies still poses.

In spite of these challenges, the future looks bright and the authors propose a potential path forward.
