With passion for knowledge sharing

When Andrea Henrich started working at Pharmetheus in 2020, she wanted to work with the best modeling consultants in the industry and clients in leading pharmaceutical companies on different projects. She had previously worked mostly with early drug development, and at Pharmetheus she wanted to get an insight into new ways of working and different methodologies and indications.

“The pharmacometrics world is a small one and several of my new colleagues were already part of my network. Pharmetheus has employees which are thought leaders in the industry, and I wanted to work with the best.”

When asked about the famous names she wanted to work with when joining the company, she says that she now has worked with some of them, and they are all down to earth – and very nice.

She currently works part time as an embedded modeler, and part time in different projects, something she describes as getting the best of two worlds.

“You work with the same projects for a long time, which is nice since you can develop MIDD strategies and advise the project team”.

She also feels that her work has purpose and makes a real impact. When she helps design a new study, it saves both time and money, which help patients in the end. She says most of the drugs she has been involved in developing are not even on the market yet. Lately her work been focused on drugs targeting the pediatric population, chronic inflammation and rare diseases.

Why did you initially join Pharmetheus?

"It was a good time for a change of scenery for me, and Pharmetheus was the obvious choice. I had heard really good things about the company, I knew some of the founders and people who worked there. Before I joined Pharmetheus, I had worked for many years in the pharmaceutical industry, at the Swedish Drug Regulatory Authority, and in academia, experiences which served as a good foundation for consultancy work."

What do you do at Pharmetheus?

"As an MIDD consultant, I support clients with expert and strategic advice in pharmacometrics for compounds in all development phases, from non-clinical to clinical phases and until submission dossier. I also perform hands-on pharmacometrics analyses and related work with a focus on quality. As a Project Leader, I make sure that the timelines are followed and that the project meets quality expectations. I also manage the time-based resources needed to deliver the project. Effective and targeted collaboration with clients is key. We work with a wide variety of clients, from the pharmaceutical industry to not-for-profit organizations. I am part of a team composed of MIDD consultants with different levels of seniority and complementary areas of expertise."

Patrik gained experience as an auditor at a number of Swedish companies after completing his academic studies in business and administration. The professional experiences provided him with invaluable insights into various industries, ranging from start-ups to large enterprises. He chose to join Pharmetheus to be part of a growing organization.

Jurgen Langenhorst connects clinical data to real human impact

Climbing mountains

Jurgen Langenhorst has a LinkedIn profile picture where he is standing on top of a snow covered mountain. He loves the mountains, although he admits that it’s a bit weird as he lives in the Netherlands which consists mostly of flat low lying plains. He explains that the picture was taken some years ago in Nepal. He and his wife traveled there to to hike the Three Passes Trek in the Everest region at over 5000 meters above sea level.

“I always wanted to go to Nepal at least once and my wife agreed that it was a nice place to go. Through some acquaintances, we found this guy who primarily did expeditions to the peaks of Mount Everest. He lived in Nepal but he was Dutch and he arranged everything for us with a guide and a porter.”

Given Jurgen’s career path, it is easy to understand that he has been successful climbing the mountains of his career as well. After his Ph.D. in PKPD modeling in the hematopoietic cell transplantation setting at the University Medical Centre Utrecht, he started in January 2019 as an associate consultant at Pharmetheus. Only four years later, in January 2023, he became a senior consultant, and in 2024, heading a team of MIDD consultants.

Why did you initially join Pharmetheus?

"Pharmetheus seemed like a stimulating environment where I could improve my skills. The company is well-known in the field because of its expertise and links to academia. Back in 2019, I met many of my future colleagues when I attended Uppsala Pharmacometrics Summer School. I also attended the PAGE-conference 2021, online, and met many of them, and got a really good impression of the culture and their work. So, when I finished my Ph.D., I felt Pharmetheus was the place to further develop my knowledge."
